Pastor Jim Riggs became the Pastor of Normandy UMC on July 1, 2011. Jim is a native of southern Hancock County in northwest Ohio and was raised in a home his parents had built near the hamlet of Williamstown. He grew up and was confirmed in the Patterson United Methodist Church of which he was a member and attended until departing for seminary education. Jim's educational journey has led through Arlington Local High School, Bowling Green State University College of Business with majors in Accounting and Operations Research, and the Methodist Theological School. Jim has served West Ohio UMC congregations in the rural community of the Findlay District for eight years, the far west Columbus suburb of Hilliard for eight years as Lead Associate Pastor, and the southeast Columbus suburb of Pickerington at Peace UMC for ten years as Senior Pastor prior to coming to serve at Normandy.
